指示代词的用法：



1）作限定词，that/this在名词前面起限定作用。（若后面的名词是复数，得用 those / these）

如: This girl is Mary（这个女孩是Mary）； 

Those men are my friends（这些都是我的朋友）。

2）表示人或物，离说话者较近的用 this/ these ，离说话者较远用 that/those. 

如：This is my pencil，and that is Tony's（这是我的钢笔，那个是Tony的）；

A: What is this，and what is that？ B：This is an apple and that is a pear（这是苹果，那是桃子）

3）见面介绍时，把某人介绍给第三者，要用this 或 that （用于见面介绍）。

如：Jim，This is my teacher，Mr，Li.

4）打电话，介绍自己用“This is......”，“This is..speaking.” ,询问对方是谁，可以用“who is that”（用于电话用语）。

如： A: Could I speak to Mary，Please？（请问，我可以跟玛丽通电话吗？） 

B：This is Mary speaking，who is that？（我就是玛丽，请问你是哪一位？）

A：This is Bob. （我是鲍勃）
